We are so excited that you decided to join us as you explore how to give your pets their best life. This community is a special little place on the internet. You and your fellow Explorers explore what it means to live a full and happy life with your pets. This means something different to everyone, which is what makes this space so special.
To protect our space and create a welcoming community to people at all points on their journey, we have a few guidelines and things to guide us.
While we don’t foresee this being a problem, we do want to make sure we are all on the same page. If not, we will have to turn this adventure around and drop you back off (remove you from our community and group).
Feedback can be shared at anytime at: firstname.lastname@example.org. This is the best place to get any of your questions about the group or our community answered.
The Official Lucky Pup Explorers Guidelines & Things
1. This adventure is billboard-free
No one likes to see a bunch of billboards along the scenic routes. Please don’t share links to your social media or other groups, affiliates, product links, websites, etc. unless an admin post specifically mentions this. We want this to be a group where we all learn together. We do not want to feel spammy or always be asked to like or follow each others social media pages. However – there is a lot of great information and resources available online. If you have something that meets our guidelines and you think it will be a great resource for our fellow Explorers, feel free to comment that on their post!
2. Keep to the Trail
Our corner of the internet is a place for education and community. We are respectful of our fellow Explorers. We always assume the best intentions of each other. We assume that all questions are asked to learn and assume a positive tone of each other.
This is a place to:
– empower each other
– build relationships & connections
– be kind to one another
– do our best
– welcome each other on the journey
This is not a place to:
– discuss ethics of adopt vs. shop
– dwell on the past or exclude each other
– label people or dogs – labels limit us
We believe all pets deserve to have the same chance at their best life and welcome everyone on that journey.
3. Not all who wander want advice
Our community default is to not offer advice, try to fix a situation, or dismiss anyone’s woes by saying everything is going to be ok/will work out for the better/was meant to be/etc. When looking for advice, include a clear-cut point of challenge for you so we know what to focus our feedback on.
4. Share accomplishments & Cheer on fellow adventurers!
We love you all, whether you are a lurker or a frequent contributor, but we really do want to hear from you! Help encourage each other to share in the group by engaging with each other, cheering on their accomplishments, or asking for advice. Take a moment to share the love with a “like” and give encouragement along the way. This is a place to share your thoughts, your good days, and your less good days. Keep posts as concise as possible and don’t forget to say whether you are looking for support or for advice. Focus posts on our mission of exploring your best lives together with your pets to keep up the momentum of our group!
5. Bring your trail manners
This is one of those things I don’t really have to say, but technically, I have to say it. Explorers are among the most supportive, community-minded people. It goes without saying that we will not tolerate things affiliated with offensive/violent language, hateful or discriminatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, or political beliefs. You already knew all of this, but it is good to mention.
Also, it is important to mention having good trail manners when out and about. As good stewards of our pets, we are also good stewards of our local communities. Remember to be respectful of others, keep your distance from other pups, and be kind to each other. We can only live our best possible lives if we are respectful, welcomed members of our local communities.
6. Enjoy and show up for this adventure!
This adventure is nothing without YOU. Your voice is necessary here – just think of all the times someone put their fear aside to ask the very question you needed the answer to. Be that voice for another person in our group. We care about you. Check in regularly – even if it’s just to say “I’m kinda lost and I need help.” Don’t give up your mission – it’s worthy, necessary, and life with your pet will be better for it.
We will post a lot about our different Explorer types. They are simply a way to help you evaluate your progress on any particular topic. You or your pet will likely be a different Explorer type depending on the topic at hand.
Our types and definitions are:
Explorer: you or your pet are new to or have very little experience with the topic.
Grower: you or your pet have some experience, but are not yet proficient.
Challenger: you or your pet have lots of experience and are ready for a challenge!
Thank you for being part of this adventure. I am so grateful that you’re here. If you have any questions or concerns about these guidelines and things, please reach out at: email@example.com
Now, get ready for your next great adventure!
